The Sufi Invocation of Hazrat Inayat Khan

Toward the One,
the Perfection of Love, Harmony, and Beauty,
the Only Being;
United with All the Illuminated Souls,
Who form the Embodiment of the Master,
the Spirit of Guidance.

This invocation by Hazrat Inayat Khan has come to be used at the opening of many Dance circle meetings around the world. In the following recording from Wilderness Dance Camp, Murshid Wali Ali Meyer gives an oral attunement to the meaning of the invocation and the way that it orients us to a beginning place to experience the Dances.

There is no requirement that the Sufi Invocation be used at the start of Dance meetings. Dance leaders are encouraged to begin meetings in whatever way they choose to encourage attunement, receptivity and a sense of unity among participants.
